Our Top Outdoor Ideas for This Summer!

Summer is kicking off and we couldn’t be more excited over here at Business Athlete! The summer months are a great time to go outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. But are you ever unsure of what to do during the summer months? Well, we have some of our top outdoor activities that we think you and your family will enjoy during the summer. Some of these you can even do alone if you want to take some time to decompress and spend some time with yourself. So here are our top three ideas!

1. Dine outdoors

By this we don’t really mean to go to a restaurant and do outdoor dining. But, try dining alfresco! You can either get a beach blanket and head to the beach for some seaside dining or head over to your favorite local park. Being able to bask in the sun rays while enjoying some of your favorite meals is always one of my favorite past times in the summer. And if it’s a really warm day, feel free to take your umbrella to shield you from the sun. If you’re bringing your little ones, bring some activities. Bring a kite, bubbles, playing cards, board games and after you enjoy in your outdoor dining experience have them play some games. It’s a great way to get the kids and yourself out of the house and enjoy the sunshine.

2. Go to a drive-in!

This is one of my favorite things to do during the summer months. Not every place has an accessible drive-in movie theater but if you live close to one, definitely take advantage. Pack your car with the kids and snacks and head on over to the drive-in. There you’ll be able to see the beautiful stars and watch awesome movie. It’s a great experience and you’ll have a lot to talk about on the car ride home.

An alternative if you don’t have a local drive-in near you? Purchase a projector from Amazon and have your own experience in either your backyard or at the park. You can buy a makeshift screen or make one yourself and project your movies against it with your kids.

3. Exercise!

Keeping your body healthy and strong is especially important during the summer months because we tend to be doing so much from going to barbecues and seeing friends that we forget to take time to listen to our bodies. So get the bikes togethe,r or get your rollerblades on, and go around the park or the block and enjoy some time just exercising outside. We only get a few months to really do this outside, so why not do it now? It’s a great way to keep you and your family healthy but it’s also a great way to enjoy being outside with one another and playing and sharing in a memorable experience.
