Summer Mocktails

If you're like me, you love the summer and all that it has to offer. Summer BBQ’s, socials, outings, but you DON’T like feeling groggy, tired, or hungover after these events. So, how do I prevent this? Mocktails! These are my saving grace in any social function where I still want to participate with others but not drink. If I’m hosting, I always make sure I prepare mocktails, and if I’m going out, I either order my club soda and lime, or a shirley temple. But, I do like to have recipes on hand if I’m throwing a party or going o a friend's event. So, here are my top 5 recipes:
1. Watermelon Agua Fresca
2 cups cold water
2 cups watermelon
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp lime juice
Mint Leaves
Instructions: water, watermelon, sugar, and lime juice together. Run through a strainer and serve with ice and mint leaves
2. Blueberry Mojito
mint leaves
fresh blueberries (½ cup)
2 oz of lime juice
2 oz of simple syrup
¼ club soda
Instructions: Add lime juice, syrup and club soda in a shaker. Shake ingredients and pour over mint leaves. Gently smash blueberries and add into mixture
3. Sunrise
4 ounces orange juice
3 ounces pineapple juice
1 ounce grenadine syrup
Ice
Orange slices for garnish
Instructions: Add ice and stir in juice. Pour over grandine but do not stir.
4. Jamaican Lime Fresca
½ cup juice from fresh limes
6 cups water
1 cup simple syrup
Mint sprigs and lime slices
Instructions: Combine lime juice, water, and syrup. Let sit for at least 3 hours in the refrigerator and serve over ice. Garnish with mint and limes
5. Virgin Sangria
Lime slices
Orange
Cranberries
2 cups cranberry juice
2 cups grape juice
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup lemon juice
4 cups San Pellegrino sparkling mineral water
Instructions: In a large pitcher, add the lemon slices, lime slices, orange slices, and cranberries. Add cranberry juice, grape juice, orange juice and lemon juice. Stir well.
Refrigerate until ready to use.
Just before serving, add the sparkling mineral water or lemon-lime soda. Mix well.
